Timberwolves Take Down Pelicans In Sam Mitchell's Last Game, 144-109
In what was to be Sam Mitchell's last game as coach of the Minnesota Timberwolves, the 'wolves took down the Pelicans by nearly 50 points - 144-109. Though the Pelicans were battle-torn, having just 7 active players on their roster, the victory maintains the young squad's recent high spirits heading into the offseason.
Karl-Anthony Towns finished his rookie year in style, posting 28 points and 14 rebounds on the night. It is no wonder he became the NBA's rookie of the year - our 2nd in two seasons.
