Kyrie Wants Out!

Kyrie Irving, notably one of the most skilled and offensively gifted guards in the NBA has reportedly requested a trade from the Cleveland Cavaliers via Brian Windhorst of ESPN. The 25 year old All-Star does not want to be the secondary option behind LeBron James and is seeking to be the focal point of a franchise. Kyrie is trying to control his future and does not see that happening if he stays in Cleveland (David Aldridge, Yahoo Sports). With only one year left on his current deal, anything can happen. Last Stop, Minnesota?

Bartolo Colon or 'Big Sexy' as his fans like to call him has just recently been signed by the Minnesota Twins! This marks the 44 year old veteran's tenth Major League team. His first Major League appearance was all the way back on April 4, 1997 with the Cleveland Indians. July 18th, 2017 was his first start with the Twins against the New York Yankees at Target Field. He notably struck out Home Run Derby Champ Aaron Judge, but other than that his efforts were not enough to get the win. We Fly High! Ballin'!!! Lonzo Ball Summer League Success

As the late & great Jim Jones would say, "We fly high, no lie, you know this..... BALLIN!"   Lonzo Ball, the Los Angeles Lakers 2nd overall pick of the 2017 NBA draft, proved worthy of his last name during the 2017 Summer League Season.  In six games, Ball averaged 16.3 points, 9.3 assists, 7.7 rebounds, 2.5 steals and 1 block per game with two triple-double's (shout out to Ice Cube) and 4 games of 10 assists or more!  No other rookie has ever posted a triple double in the summer league - not LeBron James, nor Kobe Bryant!  Lonzo Ball passed so well during the Summer League he even had current president of Laker basketball operations Magic Johnson standing...

Warriors, Durant Win NBA Championship!

The Golden State Warriors have won the 2017 NBA Championship by defeating the Cleveland Cavaliers four game to one in a best of 7! Kevin Durant was named The Finals Most Valuable Player! Durant averaged 28.5 points, 7.9 rebounds and 4.3 assists a game per game in the postseaon as he help the Warriors win their second title in three years.  This marks Kevin Durant's first NBA Championship. Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green all captured their second. Durant still has one more year on his current contract with the Warriors, look for them to be in this same spot next year. Penguins Go Back 2 Back!

The Pittsburgh Penguins have done it! They have won the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row. A stint that has not been accomplished since the Detroit Red Wings did it back in 1997-98 and the first team to do it in the modern salary cap era. Sidney Crosby capped of this stellar run with not only his second Stanley Cup in as many years but his second straight Conn Smythe Trophy; which is awarded to the Most Valuable Player of the Playoffs.
