Minnesota Lynx Looking to Repeat In 2016
The Minnesota Lynx tip off the 2016 WNBA season this Saturday, May 14th, hosting the Phoenix Mercury at the Target Center!
Winning 3 of the last 5 WNBA championships, the Minnesota Lynx certainly know what it takes to win. With 4 Olympians on the roster and the 2015 MVP of the entire league in Maya Moore, it's no surprise that the Lynx are projected at number 1 in the pre-season power rankings and many predict a repeat championship. If they were to go back-to-back, they would be the first team to do so since the Los Angeles Sparks in 2002.
It's a perfect way to kick off the season, as Diana Taurasi and the Phoenix Mercury come into town as the projected number 2 team in the power rankings. Could this be a bit of foreshadowing for the playoffs? Only time will tell!
