Golden Gopher Basketball!
The Minnesota Golden Gophers basketball team surprised many last year with a 23-8 record. They also made the NCAA tournament as a 5 seed, which marks the highest seeding for the University since there 1997 Final Four run as a 1 seed.
There is a lot to look forward to when it comes to the Gophers basketball program. Richard Pitino has been getting better every year since his arrival and now more then ever is the talent pool deepening. Amir Coffey, Isaiah Washington and future prospect Daniel Oturu are all 4-star rated players. With that amount of talent, the Gophers could be a team to recon with for the foreseeable future.
Isaiah Washington (picture above) was named 'Mr. New York Basketball' last year and is one of the bigger names to enter the program in some time. With the emergence of Isaiah Washington and Texas A&M transfer Davonte Fitzgerald, the Gophers could push for a nice tourney run this season. The 2017-18 regular season begins on November 13th against Providence on Fox Sports 1, be sure to tune in!
