Penguins Go Back 2 Back!

The Pittsburgh Penguins have done it! They have won the Stanley Cup for the second year in a row. A stint that has not been accomplished since the Detroit Red Wings did it back in 1997-98 and the first team to do it in the modern salary cap era. Sidney Crosby capped of this stellar run with not only his second Stanley Cup in as many years but his second straight Conn Smythe Trophy; which is awarded to the Most Valuable Player of the Playoffs. Sidney Crosby excelled on both ends of the ice proving how vital a two way game is in the playoffs. 

The iconic duo of Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin have yet again proven to be lethal. This marks their third Stanley Cup, one more then the previous Penguins duo of Mario Lemieux and Jaromir Jagr. Crosby is now looked at not only as the best player of his generation but one of the greatest players in the leagues 100 year history! The Pittsburgh Penguins are still young and there are more possible championships left in them, should be interesting to see how the future unfolds for this prolific franchise.
