Some big story lines obviously involve the defending champions, Chelsea. Picked by many to contend, but very few picked them to repeat. The consensus favorite this season is Manchester City. Several key players were added in the offseason to strengthen up the back end, and along with their lethal scoring ability, they will be a tough out. Some other contenders include the likes of Tottenham HotspurManchester United, and Arsenal.  An unlikely team that might stir up the pot this season is Everton. The big loss of Romelu Lukaku hurts, but adding Wayne Rooney and other depth players could bode well for the club.

Liverpool's famed club has been in the news a lot lately involving there budding star midfielder, Phillippe Coutinho. The Brazilian winger has been involved in transfer rumors worldwide with the likes of world powers, Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain. Recently Liverpool's manager Jurgen Klopp stated that he has no intention of selling him and that Coutinho is priceless to their club (skysports.com).

Manchester United is always expected to be in the mix for a title but many experts think there chances are dim this year. The Red Devils manager, José Mourinho has been criticized for his coaching style since he took over in 2016. USA Today Sports writer, Martin Rogers says Mourinho's style has been too defensive at times and it is hurting the clubs chances.

The English Premier League is always entertaining and this year will be no different. Tune in to the games all season long in the states on the networks of NBC.
