NFL Rookies Report To Training Camp!
Tuesday, July 24th means it's time for NFL rookies to report to training camp!
The NFL is back in the forefront of the sports media cycle as all rookies are required to report to training camp this week and participate in team practices. This will be the first looks at the likes of Saquon Barkley, Baker Mayfield and company in their respective team's colors. Veterans are to report on Friday the 27th, and fully-padded practices will begin next week! Here is a complete Training Camp schedule & FAQ from the Minnesota Vikings website. Questions on ticket prices and availability can all be answered there.
One big question for the Vikings heading into the 2018-19 season is where first round pick Mike Hughes will end up. Though Minnesota was ranked #1 in yards allowed per game, there is still a need for impact players who can create turnovers and generate momentum for the offense. Hughes intercepted 4 passes in his only season for UCF, returning one for a touchdown and helping the school to an undefeated record. He also returned 3 kicks for scores, bringing the question whether returner and University of Minnesota alumni Marcus Sherels will have a spot on the team if they give Hughes the responsibility of fielding punts. Coach Mike Zimmer talks very highly of his first round selection, creating buzz that Hughes may be the final piece they need defensively to get to the Super Bowl.
