Sports Fan Store: Game 1 of the 2016 World Series

Last night was a fantastic night for Cleveland, with the Indians clobbering the Chicago Cubs in Game 1 of the 2016 World Series at Progressive Field. Apparently, the Curse of the Billy Goat was stronger than usual for the Cubs because they couldn’t fit a single run into the game. If the Indians continue to play as they did last night, they could lift the so-called Curse of Rocky Colavito and win the World Series. Let’s discuss last night’s game:

Well Done, Corey Kluber

Last night, Indians starting pitcher Corey Kluber was on fire. Kluber’s confidence shone through his relaxed demeanor as he struck out the Cubs eight times with his sinkers and fastballs. In fact, his pitching set a new record, with the most strikeouts through three innings of a World Series game. If Kluber continues to pitch like he did last night, the Cubs don’t stand a chance.

Let’s Talk About Roberto Perez

If you viewed last night’s game, you could not forget the two home runs Indians catcher Roberto Perez hit. Seeing a catcher hitting multiple home runs in the World Series is slightly more common than seeing a unicorn run through the outfield. In fact, the last time a catcher hit multiple home runs in a World Series game was thirty years ago in 1986.

Can the Indians repeat their amazing performance tonight at Progressive Field in Game 2? With an iffy weather forecast, authorities already moved the game up an hour due to impending rain. Our sports fan store includes all of the Indians sports team apparel you will need for the remainder of the World Series, including authentic jerseys. Cubs fans can rest easy because we include Cubs sports fan gear as well.
